From: Dick Balaska Subject: XPilotNT-0.6 (martinized) Date: Sun, 17 Nov 1996 05:29:31 -0500 Hi kids: I know its been awhile. Here's a new version: I gave the source code over to this guy, who has done some good things to the speed of the display; i'm pretty happy with it. We'll see what y'all think. So this is his version :) If this version sticks, i will probably go public with it. Yes, it's not done, but its still pretty cool :) Resizing works. Teammates lasers are blue. Fixed width font in score window. MOTD is pretty dangerous (some machines locks up XPilotNT) so the default is "No" in XPilotNT.ini . Fonts still need work (see below) There are 3 new options in XPilotNT.ini that look like this: ; ***Windows only Options*** scaleFactor=1.0 ; This option allows you to scale the size of the playfield. ; It is useful if you have a small screen and would like to see ; more of the playfield. Try 1.3-1.5 to start. ; Values < 1.0 are not allowed. ; The default value is: 1.0 . radarDivisor=1 ; This option determines how many frames to wait before updating ; the radar window. If you have a slow computer, this option is ; useful to squeeze out a little more CPU for general gameplay ; Try using 2-3 to slow down radar updates. ; The default value is: 1. scoreFontHeight=0 ; This option lets you tweak the size of the score window font. ; 0 means to use the system font which may not be appropriate. ; Try using values between 10-15. Note that fonts are not correct when scaling the playfield window, but i can think of at least one hardened XPiloteer who will use this anyway :) _,--" dik `-._ ________-_______ "---- _----'--'--------------------------------'--'----_ //_| | \ dick@buckosoft.com / | |_\\ (_____|_|__= Waterbury CT +1.203.757.6994 =__|_|_____) _\_____=___ http://www.buckosoft.com ___=_____/_ \/-(o)-~~-(o)-~~-(o)-`------'-(o)-~~-(o)-~~-(o)-\/ "Windows 95 is the best 24 bit operating system ever" - Computer Shopper, Oct 96 P.S. Martinize is a trademarked name for a laundry dry cleaning process. (I believe it involves carbon tetrachloride which is now banned in the US)
